Game Server Rules
The Golden Rule: Don't be a Jerk. What that means in practice is show respect to all players. This includes in game, on the l3git.com forums and on our TeamSpeak. Originally I had assumed that the Golden Rule spoke for itself, and people would understand what I meant. Silly me. Just to play it safe, I'm going to elaborate on what the rules are. No hacks, cheats of use of exploits. By exploit I mean something the programmers forgot and isn't supposed to be there. An example is the fast gun switch, ladder exploit, zoomed M16 or running with gun. Since we're not going to get anther update to the game, just resist the temptation. Do not intentionally teamkill (TK) anyone. If you are an [L3] clan member, this also means on OTHER SERVERS as well. Accidents do happen, so apologize and don't let it happen too often. Intentional TK will get you a short-term ban on the first offense, and longer or perma on repeat offenses. Mass TK, such as nading your own team will get you permabanned. If you get TKed on our server, report it in the forums or to an admin. Please take into account that it COULD be accidental, but if it is obvious then report it. Screenshots or demos are best. Ditto if an [L3] TKs you intentionally on another server. Do not abuse, berate, belittle or disrespect other players. It is permissible to say something like "You got owned!" or "Dude, that was a stupid move." However, calling PEOPLE names will not be tolerated. "Dude, YOU are stupid." isn't acceptable. Nor is harping on an incident or constantly picking on other players. Good judgement comes from experience and experience comes from bad judgement. Just because YOU have spent your life learning the ins-and-outs of a particular map doesn't mean everone else has. Along that line, don't berate people for lack of skills with the M203 (g) or Sniper. Odds are they need PRACTICE and hearing supposed "team mates" constantly tell them to swap because they suck isn't helping. You want the sniper or G? Then score more points and pick it next round. Or, ask -- ONCE -- politely. Expect to hear "no" and like it. Do not whine to the admins about mods, guns, cheats or other juvenile crap. You may find an RPG fight on Bridge amusing, but some of us ([chill], in particular) thinks it is a childish waste of time and are sick of hearing about it. You can ask, but if you're told "no", then accept that answer and move on with life. Assault Camping is Prohibited, especially on Bridge and Pipeline need to keep in mind that there are OBJECTIVES and a TIME LIMIT. Providing covering fire at the outset, even from the Bridge Assault Tower, he Pipeline sheds or assault spawn, is a perfectly valid tactic (on our server). Both are especially l3git if Defense insists on rushing instead of defending. HOWEVER, watch the clock. Do NOT be sitting in either area when the clock strikes 2:00 minutes. MOVE OUT and at least TRY to accomplish the objectives! Excessive camping will get you bumped over to Defense, where you can camp and roast marshmellows for all I care. Defensive camping is ALWAYS a l3gitimate tactic. Whining about campers will get you muted. Finally, this last rule is for [L3] clan members. When you're in other servers you represent your clan. Do not disgrace us with bad or childish behavior. The above rules apply to you on ALL AA 2.8.3 servers, unless expressly in conflict with the other server's rules. Lots of other people are less tolerant about assault camping, for instance. Show respect at all times. Keep in mind, the main purpose of TeamSpeak is to allow teammates to communicate in game. If you want to have non-game converstaions, please take it to another channel. Don't Ghost. If you're dead, don't give hints or info to those still living. Reporting an idle player is NOT ghosting. If you have it, please use a headset. Please, please do not use VOX, or voice-activated chat. Assign a button and use push-to-talk (PTT). The rest of us do not want to hear your mom/dad/sister/wife/parole office chatter in the background. We don't care if you have to take out the garbage, or what you want for lunch. Clan Member Rules Show respect to all players at all times. Do not disgrace the clan with you actions on other servers. The Server Rules all apply to you, regardless of what server you are playing on. The only exception is when the other server rules contradict our rules. Home rules rule. The biggest example of this is some other server admins are very strict on assault camping. If they say "do not go in the assault tower on Bridge, then do not go in the assault tower on bridge. If you don't like their rules, then disconnect and don't play there. Don't mouth off, don't throw a fit and TK, just disconnect. No double-clanning. If you're part of [L3], then you can't be a member of another AA clan. If you're a member of another clan, then you must leave that clan before joining [L3]. Per Map Rules All Maps: No M-203 (g) spam within the first 20 seconds of match start. Bridge: No AR spam within the first 15 seconds of match start. Pipeline: No fire of any kind from the vents within the first 15 seconds of the match start. |
